Crack Navcore 12
When I updated my sd card yesterday, it downloaded an update - 9.883 - along with what it called a 'one-time update': the file was around 88Mb. It took quite a while to update the unit in the car - it updated the application first, as per normal. But then it did two more updates with no explanation - the last one appeared to show an icon suggesting it was updating something to do with gps. The way of presenting progress with the last two was unlike the application update, with a bar at the bottom of the screen being used. The instructions said that once the unit had updated, the sd card should be put back in the pc and updated - presumably to wipe the update files.
I have looked around the forums but can see no announcement or discussion of this. I haven't used the car since, but the screen and options appear to be unchanged.
Is it just me that has had this update? Can anyone expand on this beyond the pretty bare description at target='blank. Hi philm13, I described the update in the German Part.;) Version 9.883 (Carminat TomTom LIVE). This release fixes a GPS firmware update issue.
This software update provides support for Electrical Vehicles. The behaviour of the software has been improved when connected an RDS-TMC receiver. Bi-lingual support has been improved. GPRS modem support has been improved, which in turn solves issues related to the LIVE Services.
Cracked Navicular
Improvements have been made to the Danger Zones service (France only). An issue has been fixed involving speed cameras disappearing if the LIVE services subscription expired. The Update has three Parts. First as you describe is for the Carminat itself, second Part is for the GPRS-Modul (Live-Services) and third as you describe is for the GPS-Chipset. Greetings Troubadix12.
Hi Neo23, have you format the SD-Card and restore from a backup? If so, nothing has changed. Take the SD-Card to your PC and delete the Content (not the directory itself) of the directory 'loopdir' at the root of the SD-Card. But beware, you loose last Targets, Favorites and personal Preferences!
For the future. It is highly recommended that you make a full manually (not via TTHome) Backup from your SD-Card before you start a major update (Map or Navcore). For that stop TTHome (even in the taskbar) and copy all Content of the SD-Card in a directory of your own choice. For that your Explorer-View-Options should be set to display all Files and Directories (even hidden and system) and display all File-Extensions. Greetings Troubadix12. Hi Troubadix12.thanks for the reply. First of all i take the sd to format.copy the full content previously backup in my pc.nothing.
After that I take the sd and delete the loopdir.nothing.the GPS continously looping between sandglass & renault tomtom screen. I think that the app 9883 damaged my internal GPS memory and can't restart correctly. I believe the solution is get the app 9847 original and recopy that. The app 9847 is the last correct in my GPS.but i can't download this.only the 9883. Thanks for the reply partner. Hi Neo23, maybe a reset of the Carminat could help as described here: target='blank maybe this instruction could help to reinstall the Navcore to the Carminat: target='blank If you have the chance to reinstall Navcore Version 9.883, please be patient during update occurs. The Carminat reboots serveral times (up to six times).
After two or three reboots it installs first the general firmware-update, then reboots, then install a firmware-update for the GPRS-Module, then reboots, then install a firmware-update for the GPS-Chipset, then reboots. This take up to 10 or more minutes. Don't turn off the ignition and don't eject the SD-Card while Update is in pogress. Wait until the Map-Screen and the correct time is displayed. Greetings Troubadix12. Hi all, Unfortunately, we've got a few similar reports to Neo23's since the latest application update on the Carminat LIVE devices (SN starting with IB).
The symptom of this issue is that the device freezes at one of the following screens: Our technicians are investigating the issue and trying to find a solution as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, I'd advice you to try the following troubleshooting: target='blank (Remove loopdir) target='blank (Manually install the application) target='blank (Format the memory card) Should this not solve the issue, please target='blank. I'll post here, when I have more news about the issue.
My apologies for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience! Edit: Updated the announcement with the affected devices. Edit2: Added explanations to the troubleshooting steps. Cheers, Mikko. HI jvarisch1, welcome to the TomTom-Community:D Have the Update completed (the three Updates I described above - first firmware-update Carminat - reboot - second firmware-update GPRS-Modul - reboot - third firmware-update GPS-Chipset - reboot) and then it hangs in a reboot-loop? If so, have you tried the tip to delete the content oft the 'loopdir'-folder (not the folder itself) at the root of the SD-Card (beware, you looses all favorites, last targets and personal preferences)? Greetings Troubadix12.
